Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella receives the 2023 Axel Springer Award

Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, has received Axel Springer’s 2023 award, in light of what the company says is a ‘huge impact on modern life’. He will receive his award at a ceremony scheduled to take place on October 5th, at Axel Springer’s new building in Berlin.

He has not only led Microsoft to extreme economic success, but above all has renewed it culturally and strategically. With the early development of generative artificial intelligence, he has opened another decisive chapter. I admire him as an entrepreneur and as a person.”

With the Axel Springer Award, the company honors outstanding personalities who are particularly innovative, create and change markets, leave their mark on culture, and embrace their social responsibility. Satya Nadella is the eighth winner to date.

The past awardees are the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the BioNTech founders Özlem Türeci and Uğur Şahin, Elon Musk (founder and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, among others), the economist and author Shoshana Zuboff, Jeff Bezos (founder and CEO of Amazon and owner of the Washington Post), Sir Tim Berners-Lee (inventor of the World Wide Web), as well as Mark Zuckerberg (founder and CEO of Facebook).
