B2B publishing and events business Informa has further strengthened its presence in global markets, with the acquisition of Tarsus, and events business that annually reaches 1m across 15 countries, with convenings across numerous sectors.
Stephen A. Carter, Group Chief Executive, Informa, said: ”We have long admired the Tarsus business which, like Informa, has been built around major brands in attractive, specialist B2B markets in the growing regions of Asia, China, the Middle East and the Americas.”
Douglas Emslie, Chief Executive, Tarsus added: ”I am extremely proud of the Tarsus business, our people and our customers. I could not think of a better partner than Informa to lead our brands and colleagues through the next phase of growth and expansion.”
Informa said that the two companies had ‘highly complementary portfolios’ and that the acquisition would allow the combined organisation to strengthen its offering across Asia, China, the Middle East and North & South America.
The news comes as Informa announces strong financial results for the year, which Carter says highlights that the company “Firmly back in growth. Growth in revenues, growth in profits, growth in cash flow and, importantly, growth in shareholder returns.”
